The Connexshun

Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian." - United States Supreme Court, 1892

It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible" President George Washington, September 17th, 1796

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports . . . And let us indulge with caution the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion . . . Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail to the exclusion of religious principle. ""I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- God Governs in the Affairs of Men, And if a Sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, Is it possible that an empire can rise without His aid? "Benjamin Franklin

"The reason that Christianity is the best friend of Government is because Christianity is the only religion that changes the heart.” President Thomas Jefferson

"Except the Lord build the house, They labor in vain who build it." Benjamin Franklin

"We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." President James Madison

"The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His Apostles.... This is genuine Christianity and to this we owe our free constitutions of government. "Noah Webster

"The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed.” Patrick Henry

"Of all systems of morality, ancient or modern, which have come under my observation, none appear to be so pure as that of Jesus." Thomas Jefferson

Virtually every one of the 55 writers and signers of the United States Constitution were members of various Christian denominations: 29 were Anglicans, 16 to 18 were Calvinists, 2 were Methodists, 2 were Lutherans, 2 were Roman Catholic, 1 lapsed Quaker and sometimes Anglican, and 1 open deist--Dr. Franklin who attended every kind of Christian worship, called for public prayer, and contributed to all denominations.

Can you find comments that state America was never a Christian Nation?

Comments are one thing, actual evidence is quite another however !!!! In this modern age, not all men are created equal...How many "brothers" can you show me that were the product of a fertility clinic???? Forced sterilization on reservations up untill the 1960's...The whole civil rights movement was carried on the backs of Christians that saw the need in every part of this country because of the lack of Christian brotherhood .... The only good Indian is dead Indian ...The persecution of Mormens...The mistreatment of Irish immigrants ,Polish immigrants,Chineese immigrants, well, all immigrants for that matter...The wars of land aquisistion against Spain, Mexico, England, and the wars of extermination against any tribe of people so misfortunate to be in our way....The religious bigotry within the Christian community against each other's enterpretation of the "holy" scriptures.... Sounds bad for the "home" team now don't it???? Now that bit about "founded on Christian principles", please show me where the New Testament has anything about overthrowing Herod or Caeser....Or how about something on how we should vote on which of God's laws we will follow???? We've all heard of R.I.N.O.'s (Republican In Name Only ) , well I humbly submit C.I.N.O. as the way we(collectively that is) actually are!!!!!!! PUH-LEASE prove me wrong!!!

First thing, first welcome Bryan I enjoy your comments on the radio and your story about medieval fighting. I only wish I could join in. I know I could kick some butt. Now about the Founding Fathers. I ask this question again is there evidence that proves this country was founded on Christian principle? The answerer is yes! If you study the Old Testament and read about how Moses set up the government for the Hebrew children you will find that there were three groups with equal power to govern the people. God himself gave them the Ten Suggestions. No wait a minute. The Ten Comments. Yea that’s it. No it’s The Ten Commandments. This is a base moral code. What would the world look like if the morals were based on survival of the fittest? Do you think we would be living in walled cities? Would you be very happy to live to the ripe old age of twenty five? Where the Founding Fathers Christians? Yes. Did all of these men walk the talk? NO!!! But most did and place there all existence to establish a country where ‘All men are Created Equal’. You and other’s can twist this to mean any thing that suits your position. But I read this to mean:
all adj. and pron. everything. everyone.
men n. pl. human being. person.
created v. to make; to invent.
equal v. to be exactly the same
I would like to thank Mr. Webster for agreeing with me.

To address the comment about the New Testament making statements about overthrowing the government it is not there but, the people in the Hebrew government thought that when the Christ came he would overthrow the Roman government. They wanted to kill him when he pointed out that there leaders were placing burdens on the people that they would not carry themselves. Sound familiar! Good news when he comes back the next time he will carry a big Sword!

Finally, how would you pronounce C.I.N.O.? How about C.I.N.O. sin-o

Peace
