The Connexshun

Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind. It is impossible that it should be otherwise; and in this sense and to this extent our civilization and our institutions are emphatically Christian." - United States Supreme Court, 1892

It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible" President George Washington, September 17th, 1796

"Of all the dispositions and habits which lead to political prosperity, religion and morality are indispensable supports . . . And let us indulge with caution the supposition that morality can be maintained without religion . . . Reason and experience both forbid us to expect that national morality can prevail to the exclusion of religious principle. ""I have lived, sir, a long time, and the longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this truth -- God Governs in the Affairs of Men, And if a Sparrow cannot fall to the ground without His notice, Is it possible that an empire can rise without His aid? "Benjamin Franklin

"The reason that Christianity is the best friend of Government is because Christianity is the only religion that changes the heart.” President Thomas Jefferson

"Except the Lord build the house, They labor in vain who build it." Benjamin Franklin

"We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." President James Madison

"The religion which has introduced civil liberty is the religion of Christ and His Apostles.... This is genuine Christianity and to this we owe our free constitutions of government. "Noah Webster

"The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed.” Patrick Henry

"Of all systems of morality, ancient or modern, which have come under my observation, none appear to be so pure as that of Jesus." Thomas Jefferson

Virtually every one of the 55 writers and signers of the United States Constitution were members of various Christian denominations: 29 were Anglicans, 16 to 18 were Calvinists, 2 were Methodists, 2 were Lutherans, 2 were Roman Catholic, 1 lapsed Quaker and sometimes Anglican, and 1 open deist--Dr. Franklin who attended every kind of Christian worship, called for public prayer, and contributed to all denominations.

Can you find comments that state America was never a Christian Nation?

Yeah they talked the talk, but did not walk the walk. Most of the signers were slave owners. Those who were not supported the system. Also, they were masons and shriners. So all of that goobly goo means nuthin!!!

So,.....................is this what the definition of hypocrasy is ??

Reply to This

hypocrasy
A comic misspelling of "hypocrisy" as defined by butthurt forum-goers trying to insult other members. Can be the source of multiple lulz and simultaneous embarrassment by the user trying to appear smart for using a four-syllable word.
Need I say more !

For you HIGHLY educated.................that would be "once more again".

lulz
Beginning as a plural variant of lol, Lulz was originally an exclamation but is now often used as a noun meaning interesting or funny internet content.
Lol -> lul; lols -> luls; lolz -> lulz.

Come on man, lighten up. Do you have it all figured out? I don't. Even Reggie and I do not agree on every thing. What say you about American starting out a Christian nation?

North is no better or different than the South. Racism/white supremacy is the order of the day in America as a whole. The only difference is that the North is more covert than the South, but no less Racist.

The Declaration of Independence states “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, ….” Whether the founding father included Blacks or Red men in this statement or not. To day “all men” means every body. Red, Yellow, Black, or White.
My father’s generation where some what openly raciest. My generation was not openly raciest but started to figure it out that all men are equal. A man is a man. To change from the hate of the past. To acknowledge that there were mistakes(not strong enough word) in the past, be determined not to repeat or pass along hate. This we must teach our children. Hate is immoral!!!!
Racism has no color. If you hate another race because of there color you are a raciest. I look at my self and at times I AM a Raciest. This is wrong. This is something I am not proud of and with the help of God will be changed.
God does not see skin color. He only sees Righteousness!

In my opinion there is more racism in the North. I can’t say why it just feels like it.

Was not Wade Houston admitted as a member of the Cherokee Country Club?

America may have started out as a Christian Nation in theory (ideally), but NOT in its actions. Even today there is one particular political party that claims to have a "monopoly on all things Christian", but their actions say something totally different. I think if you're gonna "talk the talk" then you should "walk the walk". This nation has done a lot of talking, but very little walking, especially down South, and definitely as far as race relations. On that issue (respect for ALL races) the South (at least parts and in certain areas) is still living in the stone ages. There are still Southern whites who think they are superior (in their minds) and entitled just plain and simply for being born white?? I DON'T have it all figured out either, but I do know there is something wrong when someone like former University of Tennessee Basketball Coach Wade Houston can't be a member of Cherokee Country Club, and WHY????????? But, the country club establishment goes to church on Sunday, sings in the choir, sends praises up to their God, etc., etc., etc., as if there's a "Whites Only" section in heaven......................................................................................Oh, Yeah.................................or HELL(because "Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these My brethren, ye have done it unto Me".---Jesus Christ)............................................................Put me on the right track, if I'm wrong!!!!!!!!!

Shortbus, I have a question for ya: Yes or No ?? Do you or those who know you feel that your racism CLOUDS your abilities to make sane, logical, RIGHT decisions when you're dealing with other races???
