Let it be known that I know nothing of the delicate details of the cases I mention. I only know of them through public media outlets. 1st of all, I'd like to make as clear as possible the fact that I understand that in most cases the family and friends of murder victims, for the most part, would like nothing more than to see those convicted burn in hell. My heart goes out to all of the family and friends of anyone I may mention in this discussion. Next, this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with taking one side over another, but everything to do with the history of the process. ............3 former and current cases have caught my attention: #1, the white woman who used a shotgun to murder her alledged abusive minister huband in front of their young children, fled the state of TN, was apprehended @ the beach, appeared on OPRAH, eventually went free, and I believe has a book deal. #2, the "love triangle" case, which involved Attorney Poston defending Eric McClean, both appearing on the TODAY show and other media outlets. Poston defended McClean 'tooth and nail'. McClean walks away with pretty much time served. And #3, the Lamaricus Davidson, etc......case which is on-going. I believe Attorney Poston was initially representing one of these defendents...Now, the questions on my mind: 1) Is this not a prime example of how biased the justice can be ? 2) Is Attorney Poston unable to defend a black man as fiercely as a white one? Murder is murder......Evil is evil........Evil does not discriminate. What about defense attorneys?.......3) The white woman pulls a trigger & walks away, the white man pulls a trigger & walks away............Boyd, a black man, pulled NO trigger, but was linked to the crime and gets (I think) 18 years. Am I missing something??? Would someone please correct my vision if I'm not seeing right? Is the process flawed by men who pre-judge? Is someone's guilt or innocense arrived @ before they have a chance to defend themselves? Does color decide whether one man walks and another dies? When will the process of how we arrive at justice be truly color blind???
